It’s a short project that I’ve been working on to get the feel of RPGMaker MV, which I started using in place of the Ren’py engine. As I continued development on A Memory of Eternity, I realized that it was simply a bad fit for a visual novel and I needed something with more flexibility, hence RPGMaker, a game-building software that has been on the market for many, many years.
The Singularity Wish is a seperate story from A Memory of Eternity, but it is also a direct prequel to the main series. The game details the singularity (small S singularity) from the perspective of its major actors.
Enter the role of Maxis Summers, a junior-level researcher working on an illegal AI development project. When he signed up for the job, he didn’t expect to be working underground, away from his wife and daughter. He also certainly didn’t expect to have to deal with the risk of a technological singularity.
The Singularity Wish is a game about the choices we make. There are no puzzles or turn-based combat, instead the player is confronted with the consequences of their actions… or inaction.
Coming this May. Stay tuned.
